Proposed Mix-Use Development, Eko Atlantic City

The project was borne out of Tunde Ogunkunle's keen interest in modern/futuristic architectural technology and environmental sustainability. The building has a total of 35 floors and combines in itself commercial, office, recreational and residential spaces; The simple Idea of having to live, work, shop, and have fun in one building. Cool! Yea? He also explored different possibilities of a mix-use building being "Smart" and "sustainable"; 1. The Building reacts to environmental factors such as the sun( the shading device mechanism reacts accordingly to solar intensity), dust (self-cleaning building fabrics), noise (noise-filtering building fabrics) etc. 2 It has an automated security system 3. It has mechanical and electrical fault detecting devices. 4. In the building, control of the building components (doors, windows, floors etc.) can be done via smart gadgets such as phones (through a building-gadget synchronized technology). 6. The Multi-level car parking spaces are covered with smog-eating and self-cleaning materials; reducing the Carbon monoxide (C0) released into the air by the cars.
